On Wednesday morning, a traffic accident with a fatal outcome occurred in the province of Los Santos. The incident happened at the entrance to the city of Las Tablas.
The victim was identified as Gladys Campos, a renowned 77-year-old stylist. According to initial reports, she was attempting to cross the road when she was struck by a taxi traveling in the area. The incident occurred on the dual carriageway leading to the city, a stretch characterized by a high flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to the presence of public offices, banks, and other commercial establishments.
Emergency units arrived at the scene and provided immediate assistance; however, despite the efforts of rescuers to save her, her death was confirmed on the spot. Subsequently, the body was covered pending the arrival of the relevant authorities for the corresponding procedures, while onlookers watched in consternation at what had happened.
The authorities have launched investigations to determine the exact causes of the accident and to establish responsibilities.
